Why is there side corrosion during precision metal etching? The two most important parameters in precision metal etching are also the most important parameters. The etching speed selects the length of the etching processing cycle. The faster the etching speed, the shorter the etching processing cycle, and the higher the output power, and vice versa. In general, metal etching is a general term for metal etching, and for parts, it is called metal etching. Since only the surface is etched, the liquid is initially contacted from the preliminary surface. At this time, due to the liquid contact, the contact surface is initially dispersed to the periphery due to the corrosion time, and the side corrosion of the side wall is formed. At this time, the etching speed should be mastered, and the etching speed will affect the final precision of the product. However, the hardware etching speed is not as fast as possible:

1. The faster the etching speed is, the larger the etching amount of metal in unit time is, the heat generation increases, and the temperature of the etching liquid changes rapidly, which is not conducive to the stability of the etching speed;

2, the etching speed is too fast, the processing of parts with very precise depth requirements is not easy to control;

3. The faster the etching speed, the lower the quality of the metal surface after etching, which obviously affects the smoothness and gloss of the etched surface;

4. High etching rates often require high concentrations of corrosive agents, highly corrosive chemicals, high etching temperatures, and the like. One of these factors increases the cost of corrosive agents, increases the demand for hostile eclipses, and increases the cost.

Furthermore, high concentrations of etchants and high etch temperatures increase environmental pollution and damage to the operator.

In practice, for those parts with a large amount of etching, you can use the method of “first fast and then slow”. The so-called "first fast and then slow" is to first etch with an etching solution with a faster etching speed. When the etching depth is close to the planned value, it is replaced with an etching solution with a slow etching rate for precision etching. However, the processing time is shortened, and the etching precision and surface gloss are ensured together. As for the determination of the fast etching time, the demand is determined according to the processing requirements of the parts, and generally it is preferable to select 80%-90% of the total etching amount.

The thickness of the side etching is mainly affected by the metal etching metal material. Among the commonly used metal materials, the side etching amount of copper is the smallest, and the side etching amount of aluminum is the largest. The choice of a more superior etchant, although the speed of etching is not obvious, but it can improve the amount of side etching of metal etching.
